In conjunction with the University of Southern Indiana’s 50th Anniversary, the Varsity Club has published a cookbook, Celebrating USI’s 50th Anniversary Through Cooking. The cookbook contains history of the USI, Varsity Club, and Athletics, as well as over 330 delicious recipes! The cookbook is a collection of recipes from Varsity Club members, coaches, faculty, staff, alumni, retirees, and friends of the University. The cookbook will be sold for $25.00, and all proceeds from the sale will help support USI Athletics.
The Cookbook is comprised of Janet Werner – Chair, Cindy Renschler – Vice Chair, Yvonne Floyd, Penny Goshert, Paula Nurrenbern, Hunter Slade, Linda Willis, and Donita Wolf. The committee expresses a sincere thanks to the USI Arts Department Class ART332 Digital Illustration for a terrific job in illustrating the cover and the recipe title pages. The project was supervised by faculty members Adjunct Professor Eric Shelton and Assistant Dean/Associate Professor of Art, Joan Kempf deJong.
Also, a special thanks to the USI Archives, Barbara J. Goodwin, USI Photography and Media Department, and Alpha Graphics for their contribution of time, photos, artwork, materials, and printing of the cookbook. The Varsity Club Cookbook Committee is deeply grateful to the many people who dared to share their best – and in some cases highly confidential – gourmet masterpieces for this unique collection of culinary delights. Without their cooperation in generously giving their time and energy in collecting and submitting the recipes, this project would not have been possible.
